More info: |
From Lance's original J Church website: "Tide Of
Fate was inspired by camping in Death Valley with Karin
from Spitboy. Hating my job and my mundane life. The dumb metaphor
being fast-forwarding through the movie Urgh - A Music War
on crystal meth (which I would never do nowadays). Panama
is just a dumb long metaphor for petty changes in music scenes.
All the characters represent someone from Tim Yo to Gerard Cosloy.
The chorus is a palindrome. No Doves Fly Here was
originally done by the Mob, one of the Crass bands that really changed
my life. That track was only featured on the CDEP version which
also included the Sleep
single. Birthday is also on the CDEP but hidden
way at the end. Part of the layout included a photo of two women
holding a huge bored cat. This became the t-shirt design for our
first US tour."
The cover above left is from the original release, the one above
right is from the re-issue in about 1997. |
