From Lance's original J Church website: "Right about the same time John Yates asked us to do a single for Allied, Mike Millett asked us to do a single for Broken. In order to save money, we recorded the songs at the same time. Blake from Jawbreaker sang back-ups on the chorus of Kathi. Girl In A Magazine was a true story about Colleen Applegate, a porn star who blew her brains out in a cloud of cocaine. The cover photo was from a Time Life book on Poland in WWII and back cover from a book on riverboat gamblers."
