This album is a Japan-only release and the title is taken from a 1960 Japanese film. It translates as 'Cruel Story Of Youth'. Unlike the previous Japan-only album, Soul Patch And Cho Chos, which was eventually (partially) re-released elsewhere as The Precession Of Simulacra EP, these songs are planned to re-appear over time on a variety of split 7"s.

Half the songs are originals and half are cover versions. The latter, in order of appearance, are:
